Become a Member of Enoggera Bowls Sports & Community Club

Enoggera Bowls Club welcomes all bowlers, whether you are a seasoned player or new to the sport, join us to begin or continue your lawn bowls journey.

We have one single inexpensive membership for all players. Membership fees for 2024-5 are $125 per person (September to September). Pro rata membership is available to new members joining through out the year.

Applications for membership are required to be submitted to the Club’s Management Committee for approval. At the application it is important that you are aware of our membership lawful responsibilities:

Constitution section 11, 12, 13 covers the application process
Section 7 describes qualifications for membership: to be prepared to support and promote the welfare of the Club and the game of bowls; be of good character and compatible with other members…..
Follow the Club’s policies like the Conflict of Interest and Model Rules Grievance Rule

Junior bowlers are most welcome and well supported. We field teams in Premier League, Saturday pennants and a variety of other comps. There is greens access all year round.

To back you up, the club boasts an accredited coach. You can work directly with the coach to help you understand technique, positioning and tactics.

We also have many senior players who also freely give tips to our members

Our club championships are well contested. If you find it difficult to commit to competitive bowls we have Saturday afternoon sessions which offer an opportunity for all members to get a mention during the annual trophy night. Make your name a part of the club’s history.

Members can:

Practice at the Club anytime the rinks are available.
Receive coaching from our accredited coach
Be in the running to represent the Club at outside club events: Merlo Cup (8 weeks starts February), Pennants etc
Be elected to Management Committee positions
Vote at General meetings
Train to become a coach, marker or umpire to further support the game of bowls for others
When EBC is your primary Club, you can nominate for our Championship events.
Primary membership at this Club means your affiliation fees to Bowls Qld, Bowls Australia and Brisbane District are paid by the Club
Assist the Club in fun activities, like being a barefoot bowls volunteer, that help raise money for running the Club over the year.

Volunteering at Enoggera Bowls Club

Volunteering can add a sense of purpose and satisfaction. Our Club can offer a range of tasks that can be performed solo, as part of a team, or by working with others.

Volunteering at EBC can be:

Greens and surrounds cleaning tasks
Run a social members competition, a social get-together, or a special event.
Volunteer projects will be evaluated, approved (or not) supervised, and supported by the Management Team
Volunteer to manage our big screen operations
Join our Management Team or help with bookkeeping tasks

New to bowls

Contact our club coach to begin your bowls journey at Enoggera Greens; start by booking a time to learn and then practice rolling the weighted bowl. Our Club will loan you bowls until you find the set that works for you.

Are you wondering whether your body can bend or balance enough to play bowls? Some assistive devices allow our bowlers to continue playing despite “bad knees” or painful necks. Our coach uses a long arm, our member in a powered wheelchair uses a short arm, and another member uses an adapted walking stick. Our coach will help you work through the assistive devices that will help you bowl. See the different devices here
